MPT is a collection of metronome apps to motivate and help you become a better musician.
The Metronome can be configured to display the current count, a blinking light or no visual display. You may also select to group the notes so that the downbeat is accented. There are multiple choices of accents include groups of 3,4,5,6, etc. The sounds are configurable also from the Settings window.
The MetroStep app let you create and chain together different tempos - one after another. If you are practicing with a traditional metronome, you would have to stop playing and then set the BPM to a higher value. With MetroStep, you set up your intervals ahead of time so you dont have to stop and take your hands away from the instrument. For example, you could create steps of 1 minute at 100 bpm, followed by 2 minutes at 110 bpm and then followed by 1 minute at 120 bpm.
The MetroSlope takes this idea further. It gradually starts at a tempo you select and then over time changes toward a target tempo which you select. This is a great way to build chops. For example, you could start at a tempo of 100 and select an ending tempo of 130 and a time span of 3 minutes.
The Countdown Timer combines a metronome with an "egg" timer. For example, you could set a tempo of 170 bmp for 5 minutes. You can also disable the metronome sound and just use like an egg timer as well.
The Stopwatch is a "lap" type timer that has a metronome. You can use it just like a stopwatch or also have a metronome playing while timing yourself.
The BeatCalculator lets you tap beats and returns the tempo that you are tapping.
Note: First time users must first select the sound sample from the Settings page and press Apply.
These are a great collection of tools to use for musicians of all instruments, all levels and all styles.
